First of all, the baby has half of a mans DNA. Second, the last time it checked, both men and women entered the world through a womans vagina. So therefore, a man does have a leg to stand on on this issue. And yes, it takes two, so just like a woman is grown enough to play with the dick and a man is grown enough to play with the pu$$y, they both should step up to the plate and take care of their responsibilty!

Yes they should. But its the woman that has to go thru the entire ordeal of pregnancy and that is why they say the man has no say so. I have to side with you tho and say that the man should be able to have his say. And yes, if they are old enough to play around they should accept the responsiblities. Heck I was too afraid of getting pregnant when I was in my 20's......I surely didnt want to have to make any decisions like ending a babys life....

You had a good argument, missing some structure but not bad, right up till the point where you got vulgar!
And the reason men have not had a say is because it is our body that has to carry the baby and that means all the changes and the illnesses and the time off are hers to bare.
I believe a man has a right to say that he wants to keep the baby, but then he has to be responsible for the pregnancy as well.
History has shown that most men do not see the risk of pregnancy in the same way women do. Until that changes then the majority of men will keep thinking it is her responsibility for not getting pregnant and therefore her fault if she does.
Personally I believe if you commit the crime you do the time, male or female. I also believe that free will says you have to have the choice.
On the flip side, we call men who do not want to support their child born out of wedlock, a dead beat dad, but should he not have the right to say, I want you to have an abortion, and if she chooses not to then it is her sole responsibility to raise the child. This view is SOOOO frowned on that I do not state it often.
But we can not be equal if we do not have the same rights.
I realize many will say this is about the child's rights but first we have to give the parents the same rights and then maybe we can all think about the child!

Women say this because a all men can just get up and go and never look back, all don't always do but they can. But when that woman is pregnant, she has a choice to make about what to do. She either keeps the baby, get and abortion, or put the kid up for adoption. Depending on where her life is at that time, SHE has to decide what to do. If the man is gone, the woman is stuck to make decisions on her own. So if she's FORCED to make the decision on her own, when it becomes time for choices unforced she should still have that right. Therefore I don't see a man stand being as important. Well...Unless you're married because that is a union of two people.

I understand all your sentimental crap, but the fact is women were made to have children, men were not. You will never have any idea what it is like to get pregnant, have a child or be a mother. If you want to have a baby then be a single father and adopt, but don't tell a woman what to do with her body. And no matter what you do, Whine all you want, there will never come a time when there is anything anyone can do from stopping abortion. Legal; or not, I am sorry, but think about it. What are you going to do, lock someone up and force them to have a baby, give me a break. Laws will not stop Abortion.

The most militant women do not want men having an input on the debate about the legality of abortion equal to their own. They use as their argument the fact that THEY, and not WE, are the ones actually bearing the child, going through the pregnancy, and on whom the ultimate responsibilty for raising the child falls.

I can see their point of view, but, as you say, as long as a child belongs to two people, is created by two people, and can be man or woman, the man's input is as valid as the woman's.

Yes, both sides should step up and take responsibility, but the sad truth is some do not. If both sides too responsibility, we would not have the problem with abortion like we do. If you make a baby, accept responsibility and either put the baby up for adoption or do the right thing and get married and be a family.

Because women prefer to have the control in that situation. It's really a woman's choice to get pregnant, and she stands to benefit the most from having a child, from a legal perspective.

If a woman is very strong in her opinions abot abortion, and claims that it's her body, and men shouldn't even talk about the issue, she's both ignorant and selfish.

I think in most cases women say that because when the man is asked about abortion they simply don't care, don't have and answer and mostly leave it up to the woman. Everything you are saying is correct but in today's society and from experience those are the answers we get. So naturally we assume men have no opinion about abortion.

Well your not the one carring it around for 9 months...so whether or not you have a say is not the question to me. In my opinion men have as about as much say as they do involvement. So unless you want to give birth to a baby, don't complain. You have a part in the matter but the woman ultimately has more of a "stand" because it costs her more; in fact it doesn't cost you at all.

Because the abortion will be taking place inside the woman's body. It legally doesn't matter who created it. What matters is whose body it resides in and whether she wants to keep it there. It's in her body, not yours, no matter how much DNA you donated. Unless we are incapacitated or otherwise incapable of making decisions about our own bodies, we are always in charge and in control of the decision making. You may not like that it always happens in the body of a woman, but it does... and every woman has the control that was just discussed.

Oh, and the fact that you came from a woman is irrelevant to any pregnancy YOU may have been party to causing. Your mother has nothing to do with any procreative sex you have... at least we can all HOPE she has nothing to do with it.
