how do you turn off the change oil lite on a 97 pontiac grandprix3.8?

oil lite illuminates after car has been started and oil has been changed.

Turn on the ignition switch but do not start. With key on press accelerator pedal to the floor 3 times very quickly.

make sure its full maybe they didnt fill it all the way. the oil filter also holds some oil too. and they may not of checked it . Just check it and make sure its full.
