I know how and why us guys have them, but for women? I'm trying to understand this from a sientific point of view. I can contiplate theories based on religious implications, but other than the "feel good factor", I could realy use some help. (I'm not a pervert, just curious)

It encourages copulation and the motion of the vaginal walls can pull semen upwards towards the egg.

I am not completely sure what you mean by how does it work.....if you just want technical details....
Then, when I woman has an orgasm, her uterus and vaginal muscles(including external muscles) contract over and over until the orgasm is over. The purpose? Well, in all actuallity, there is no scientific purpose. In fact, some women are incapable of having them. Others can only have clitoral orgasms. Others can have internal orgasms only after much work by the man.....while still others can orgasm over and over as long as the man has a good idea what he is doing. Some women can actually ejaculate,(clear fluid that comes out of the urethra, that has a chemical composition close to semen with out the prescence of sperm) while others try as they might, can not. That isn't to say that women who can not orgasm don't enjoy sex......most still do. And the chances for conception are not greatly increased by female orgasm. There are theories that if a woman has an orgasm during the time her partner does, if she should concieve then she will have greater probablity for a boy......where as if a woman concieves during a sexual encounter where she does not orgasm, she has greater chances for a girl.......this being based on the motility factors of x or y carrying sperm.

Well, the feel good factor aside, there is the physical point of it. Ideally, a woman should either orgasm at the same time as the man, (but we all know this doesn't happen all the time!) or straight after, as the female orgasm causes the uterus and cervix to contract, 'sucking' up the semen into the uterus, therefore, aiding conception.

Personally, I prefer the feel good factor!

I believe VIDEOCREW has the right answer. After an orgasm the vaginal walls do begin to contract, that is what will eventually help the sperm get to the egg.

perhaps to make it inticing for the female to engage in sexual relations. Also, procreation has been said to work better when a woman achieves climax. hmmmmm?
