They make infant formula cold remedies. Caution, may cause excitability or increased irritability. They also make a baby nose spray, saline of course, spray in then use a nasal aspirator to suction out the secretions. If fever develops of 101 take to ER or secretions (drainage) changes color (ugly yellow, green) this would indicate infection and you would need to see your pediatrician. If persistent cough develops call pediatrician, could indicate secondary infection. Colds can turn into infections quickly in babies and your little one could end up in respiratory distress.
DO NOT give adult or children's formula. For infants you calculate by way of weight and adult dosage doesn't do that, it's a general dose. For children's formula it may have additional ingredients and you have to give nearly 3 times as much. Infant drops are concentrated to give them what they need in a small dose. Check with your pharmacist about the med but consult with your pediatrician about dose because it all depends on weight.

actually do not give tylenol unless she has a fever. You want to administer as little meds as possible. Try giving her a Johnson & Johnson vapor bath. Hold her in the bathroom with the shower running on hot(not in the shower) the steam might clear her up. Only take her to the doc if she has a fever or showing signs of difficulty breathing because there is not much they can do for a baby that young anyways. Also use a suction bulb in her nose to clear mucus.

Are you sure it is a head cold? How old is the baby? Treatment plans vary widely on the age of the child. Try taking her into the bathroom, filling it with steam from the shower, and sitting there with her until the shower runs cold. The steam will help unblock her sinuses. You will want to strip her down to her diaper while she is in there, but have towels waiting outside the door from when you emerge so that she won't catch a chill. If your baby is old enough, there are several Triaminic and Tylenol formulations that are symptom specific. Also, a vaporizer would help her breathe.

OK! I did this with all my god children and I learn it from my mother, she show me this a long time ago and most mothers hate to do it, but it helps a lot and relives them. If you place your mouth over your babies mouth and wait until your baby breath in then blow lightly though there mouth you will get a lot of stuff that you normally can't get with those noise things. Make sure you have a cloth or something to cover your face with, because it will come out. See babies can't hold there breath to blow there noise like we can, but we can assist them in doing so. With doing this you should also make sure you are communicating with your child physician and make sure the baby is getting enough fluids. And ask you doctor can you use any vapor medicine. If you don't feel comfort in doing this then don't. and if you no someone who does let them do it. trust me when i say they will be able to breath. Now you will have to continue doing this a few times out of the day, especially if they have a head cold, just think about what you do when you have one, you want to blow you noise and get everything out. I hope your baby feels well~~Good Luck

Call a doctor immediately. If she can't breathe you need to go to the doctor. If you are just over-exaggerating, here are the things to help your baby. Don't give too much Tylenol because then you're baby will be too groggy. Keep your baby's head elevated even when sleeping. Get a humidifier. There is Vick's Baby Rub to help open her chest but it depends on her age. Suction her nose with a nasal aspirator and even drop saline drops in her nose to help (not too much, you can make your own too with water and salt). Good luck!

If it has gotten that bad I'd take her in to the ER or schedule an appointment asap. It sounds like she needs to see a doctor. Until then, Vicks has a vapor rub for babies and a plug in that releases vapor in to the air. Triaminic has really good cold medicines for babies. Also keep her head up on a boppy to help her breathe. If you can all your pediatrician, do so. Also a nice luke warm bath may help. Give her lots of love. Best of luck and I'll pray for your little girl.

tylenol is used to reduce fever.. but stuffy nose should be aspirated. Do have a nasal suction? it's a rubber bulb with a plastic tip. If you've taken the advice of the baby's doctor.. this is about the only thing you can do at home. Suck all that snot out of her nose.. she'll not be happy about it, but it'll help her breathe. You can also put a humidifier in the room with some drops of menthol... hope she's feeling better soon.

If you have a humidifier use that or if you don't have that take a pot of water and put it on the stove and let it boil away it will help clear her up. Or you can sit in the bathroom with your baby and run the shower of just hot water. Will help clean out her sinuses and her lungs and make her more comfortable.

Go to the Dr... could be a sinus infection, which in wee ones can lead to ear infections, severe breathing troubles, even blood poisoning. Babies don't know how to breathe through their mouths, so a stuffy/runny nose can be a real hassle. Not only do they have trouble breathing, but they also have difficulty nursing, which can lead to dehydration, a whole other ball game...

It depends how old your baby is! Taking the baby to a doctor should be the first thing, you could try infant nurofen it is really good stuff I use it for all 3 of my girls its fast acting aswell, also propping one side of the cot up slightly like putting a pillow or something similar under the mattress and using snuffle babe or something alike will also help. make sure there is ventilation in the house will help
