My friend told me why she thought it got removed but I don't want to believe it!

It was cancelled becasue of low rating... what you friend probably told was he he got busted in a XXX theater.. that was after the show ended..

For many years, the supposed story was that Pee-Wee's Playhouse was canceled back in 1991 because Pee Wee (Paul Reubens) had been arrested for indecent exposure in a Sarasota, Florida porn theatre. Apparently, that story was only partially true, because Reubens had decided to wrap up the show at the conclusion of that very season, the show's fifth. By the time the arrest took place (July 26), all of the original episodes of the Playhouse had alread aired, and the show was in reruns. The day after Reuben's arrest, the CBS network immediately canceled all future showings of the reruns. Either way, Pee-Wee's Playhouse was not going to return for its sixth season that fall.
If, on the other hand, you're asking about Pee Wee being pulled (did I say that?) from the Adult Swim, I'd have to guess that's not been announced, because the show still appears on the schedule posted on the adult swim website (see below). It looks like Conky and Chairry should be around for years to come.
(Oh, and yes, he really did get arrested at the South Trail XXX Theatre in his hometown of Sarasota, Florida. That part is true. He was also arrested again, in 2002, and charged with possession of pornographic materials that were found to be in questionable taste. He pled guilty to charges relating to that arrest in 2004.)

It has always been believed that Pee-Wee's Playhouse went off the air because of Paul Reubens' infamous arrest on July 26, 1991 in a Sarasota, Florida adult movie theatre on a charge of indecent exposure (the TV series was pulled off the air the very next day). It reality, that is half true. In early 1991, Reubens had been offered by CBS to continue for a 6th season, but Reubens had other ideas. He had decided early on to end the Playhouse at the end of his 5th season, but did agree to allow re-runs of the show to continue throughout the summer. So it was in fact the re-runs of the series that were pulled off of the air upon news of Reuben's arrest. So even if he hadn't been arrested, his show would still have ended its run before the fall of that year.

Your friend probably told you it was because Paul Rubens (Pee-Wee) got arrested for indecent exposure in a FL adult movie theater--and he did. But the truth is, production of PeeWee's playhouse had ceased more than a year prior to his arrest. The show is still aired in syndication in some areas of the country I think. He's not a pervert, or a pedophile.

I don't know if the show was taken off the air because of his arrest. He was arrested in an adult theater. He was caught playing with himself while watching porn. I think it was a police sting operation to catch people for indecent exposure. This happened way back before broadband when the internet was pretty new. If there was online porn, he could have watched in his own home instead of a theater.

Accually he was caught either in a movie theater or a public restroom {i cant remember which } takeing indecent liberties with another man . He was booted out of Hollywood and is just now in the last year or so being let back in, poor peewee.I liked his show too .Tequilla !

It wasn't cancelled because of the scandal that involved Paul Rubens. Rubens had decided to end the show before the scandal. I think he thought it had a good run & was time for it to end.

Pee Wee got cancelled after one season because of crappy ratings. His arrest in the XXX Theater was about a couple of years after his show ended.
