I need a math trick thats something like this.
step 1) choose a number

and then do things to it like add, multiply or divide, to get the same answer no matter what number i start with. its hard to explain. please help.

Just start building an algebraic equation, starting with n, but in the end make sure to cancel out the n. This isn't a very exciting magic trick, but try it anyway:

Step 1) Choose a number
n

Step 2) Double it
2n

Step 3) Add 15
2n + 15

Step 4) Multiply by 5
10n + 150

Step 5) Divide by 10
n + 15

Step 6) Subtract your original number
15

1. Think of a number.
2. Add your age to that number.
3. Multiply it by the year you were born.
4. Divide by the month you were born.
5. Multiply by the number of places pi can be printed at a 10 pitch in Arial font on 8x11 paper over three lines.
6. Add mustard and a side of fries.
The answer is 42.
