Chavez qouted Abraham Lincoln, Jesus, and other visionaries today. He is starting a low cost oil program for poor Americans. And offered kind words for America.

Actor Danny Glover, one of my favorites, called him a visionary.

Chavez, has several issues with Bush, like most of the world. And he was correct....Bush is a exalcoholic, and he wouldn't of been President if it wasn't for his Dad.

Are some of you rushing to judgment about this Democratically elected leader?

I wouldn't rush to judgment. I heard only part of his speech. He made a lot of sense. In fact, he made more sense to me (from what I did hear) than anything Bush has ever said. Maybe other leaders around the world have those same views (not hating Americans, just Bush and his thugs).
I think Bush is jealous of any leader who was Democratically elected, because he knows he had to cheat to make it to the top, and after all that it was still a fairly close race. Bush was willing to do Anything to get in the White House. Now, I think he should be willing to pay the price, for his stupid decisions, his lies, and his bullheaded stance on so many political issues.

I worry about communities where the American poor that are accepting Chavez's free oil. What will happen with any Federal funding/grants, etc. that they may apply for or regularly receive? I believe that accepting Mr. Chavez's assistance could open them up for denial of any Federal $$ in their future. The Americans that can least afford to will piss off "good ol' boys" in D.C. who won't hesitate to bring out their big red "NO" rubber stamp for any Federal funds/grants coming up that these folks may have a shot at. It seems to me that they'll be paying for their free fuel oil one way or the other.

Chavez only bashes Bush so he can get closer to his lovers Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Fidel Castro. Deep down inside i think Chavez has mancrush on good ole monkey boy. Hey can you answer this question for me in your additional comments? Chavez wants a referrendum to make himself president for a 25 yr term, could you explain the democratic principals behind making yourself a dictator for a quarter century? Chavez took away my grandfathers military pension b/c my grandfather was not a supporter of the Chavez regime, even though he served venezuela proudly for 35 yrs in the air force. Also one more question to explain to me, what would happen to me if i went in front of Chavez's home and protested him and i called him a "devil" with a loud speaker over and over, which i am allowed to do at the White House.....do you think Chavez would allow me to criticize his regime openly and freely in Venezuela? didnt think so you wanna be Cindy Sheehan....im so sick of the excuse "they dont hate americans, they just hate our president and policy"....bullsh*t

Of course they are.
How could they not be persuaded by their president's wonderful, lucid and truthful speech as opposed to the horrible things those "evil" people said.

They even repeat the hate propaganda about Venezuela being a dictatorship etc. without being ashamed of themselves.

He claims to be a socialist, but focus moreso on strengthening his military. His antipathy for Bush is actually a plus in my book. But his lack of respect for the people he leads, is not.
