You're exactly right. They have no ideas, so they just keep doing the same thing over and over.

sweet cliche dude. that's actually not the defintion of insanity though.

i'm all for bringing home troops asap or focusing more deployed resources on catching Bin Laden/al quaeda leaders but reversing plan and jerking everyone out of there as a lot of idealists cry for would just be stupid. 'staying the course' i think just involves completing the train out of iraqi security. not an indefinite task. this is not a vietnam situation. there's a reasonable goal and an end in site that will allow us to pull out intelligently. leaving iraq in the dust now would drastically destabilize the situation and leave things worse in the region than when we started.

people also deny the logic but the troops there are essentially bravely volunteering to be targets, drawing the attention and focus of terrorists to iraq. i'd rather have this opposed to having these leaders slinking around, 100% zoned in on another catastrophic terrorist attack inside the U.S. we should let the troops get done with what they're doing before continuing to chase our utopian dreams of world peace and hugs and kisses for everyone.

If Iraq develops a good democracy where people can actually be free and we have another viable allie in the Middle East, YES. But Iraqis have to want it and execute it. We can set the table for them, but they have to come eat.

The insane thing to do is to pull out now insuring an all out civil war and collapse of the new govt.

It's true what they say, that not changing what you do will not give you different results, but you have to stay with what you start or nothing will come of it! I don't want all the soldiers to have died in vain. It's like... a diet. In the end, one will have lost a certain amount of weight, the end result. If you catch this person and stop them in the middle, everything that they hoped to accomplish for their good will not have happened, simply because they didn't stick it out.

As I have pointed out before, Unfortunately Bush won 51% to 49%, but his Rating dropped to 31%, which means the first 49% got it right, 20% have figured it out, and 31% believe anything he says.....LOL
