They wouldn't be here looking for advice. But I'd have to say the guy above me has way too much time on his hands and is probably using the 90% he already burnt out on sniffing glue to say nothing of the good 10% he once had the opportunity to use.

Wow.....what a thought...its remarkable to say the least if we as humans were to be able to use 100 % of our brain powers?? In response to your question about 10%.....I assume over a complete lifetime it could be possible but it has been a topic of speculation for years by countless scientists. Some of the greatest minds known to man merely used 5-8% estimated by researchers.....Imagine the endless magnificent array of wonderment that we as a Planet would be able to accomplish using 100%...mind-boggling levels of advancements in every aspect of human life....WOW!!!!

That is not the MIND you are speaking about, but the physical brain.

The portion that cannot be measured as having activity has activity, but the activity cannot be measured using the instrumentality of the physical plane. The Right-hemisphere is the place where subtle energies occur that ultimately manifest themselves in the Left-hemisphere as thoughts, which are then entertained as "thinking", or is acted out in behaviour.

The MIND is a subtle body of energy simultaneously existing with that of the physical body, and physical brain.

Modern psychology, which is almost entirely based on the tenets of behaviourism, has been in denial of the Esoteric MIND realm and Spiritual realm for about a century now. As a consequence, those in mental health tend to speak of the MIND and brain as the same thing. They are not.

Perhaps nobody is capable of using 100%.
But perhaps someone like Einstein or Freud or even Bill Gates, managed to use 15% or 20% and came up with ground-breaking genius theories and discoveries.

I think the other 90% is used as a buffer for special abilities people have. Some people I know use more than 10% of their brains. They have to. I think they 10% referred to is talking about the amount of information your brain can carry.

if someone used the full 100% they'd probably feel v. lonely. Think about it (no pun intended) if you're smarter than everyone else you'd feel bored being surrounded by so many people who were dumber than you!

10%?? NOWAY!!
it's 1 % only. According to some research, we only use 1% of the energy and the power of our minds.

it's like sherlock holmes' brother, mycroft...he was SO SMART that he gave advice to the queen of england, but no one knew WHO he was, cuz he did it all in his room, in his brain. and he was fat cuz all he did was sit there and think of solutions and stuff...he had sherlock go out to investigate when he didin't want to do it himself. :)
