The PS3 will be released in Japan on November 16th. It will be released in North America on November 17th. The European release will be sometime in March 2007.

The PS3 will cost $600 for the high end model, which will have a 60 gig hard drive and all the extras built in. The lower end model will cost $500 and will only have a 20 gig hard drive, you will have to buy all the extras separately.

The PS3 is coming out in March 2007 provided there are no more delays. But no specific date has been given as of yet. It will retail at the price of approx £425.

So if you don't want to wait, you could buy both a Wii and an XBox 360 for the price you would pay for a PS3. I'm not saying that it won't be a good console though!

Sony announced at E3 2006 that it would launch world wide mid November of 2006 and they set a tentive (Could Change) date for the PS3 release to be November 17.

However things have changed now the PS3 Wont arrive in Europe until March 2007 due to shortages for the US and Japan release. So far the Release date is still November 17 2006 for Both US and Japan and March 2007 for Europe but no other countries have been anounced.

Im not sure why you would want one though because its going to cost 600 dollars for the good one (the one with all the things sony promised you back at E3 2005) and the crappy one for 500 dollars (the One without the good things and it has no HD compatibality) and the Xbox 360 and even the Nintendo Wii will kick the PS3 ***!

Its said to come out spring 2007. But why wait till then buy a 360 or pre-order a Wii60. I saw a program this morning that said games on the PS3 will be less numerous then the PS2 because of the cost of making them is substantially more this in turn raising the price of the games to around £55. And the developers will in hindsight of this produce more and more sequels of games that have in the past been a success for them. More Metal Gear Solid and so on. So look at in 5 years at the end of the PS3. Metal Gear Solid the rebirth of snake Episode 15.

360 games are cheaper to produce and so are Wii60 games. So they'll have more variety of games. And will also be established as market leaders by spring.

According to:

Sony said its next-generation game console would be released in North America and Europe on Nov. 17, in time for the key holiday shopping period.

The console will come in two versions, one with a 20-gigabyte hard drive for $499 and one with a 60-gigabyte drive, for $599. The 20-gigabyte version will retail for 59,800 yen in Japan and 499 euros in Europe.

Have you seen any screenshots for any PS3 games? I saw one for the Battlefield game coming out, and holy crap!!! That screenshot looked better than most computer images I have seen. PS3 will be a hot item. Of course, the initial launch will have its normal problems, as every piece of hardware in the industry does. But it will be better than the WII and the Xbox 360.

March 2007........ And it still wont have a better on-line setup than XboxLive..... Buy the 360 it rules. You don't need a blue ray player especially at this price.
