Singing is a gift. Sure, a person's voice can be trained through voice lessons, but I think that there is more to the singing than the voice, pitch, etc.
Singing is an expression of the different emotions that we experience, and excludes more than just the lyrics of the song that is being sung. It is only a gifted singer who can channel those raw feelings into a sound to share that experience with others.

Gift. Some people can be taught to sing, but some basic ability is required. If you aint got it, you aint got it.

Parts of singing can be taught. But you have to have some underlying talent to start with.

I think it can be both.I can sing as far as I can tell.I think I'm the only one who can sing in my family,but I had to practice alot.I want to be a singer when I grow up get rich and meet Chris Brown but for now that's just a dream
