I don't, although I did watch it for it's soap-operaish "what's gonna happen next?" storylines. When I look at it objectively, though, it pretty much paints a terrible picture of the gay community. I like The L Word better, it makes me wanna be a lesbian!

I couldn't agree more. QAF is a great soap opera, but it reinforces the ideas some of mainstream America has about a supposed "gay lifestyle." What it really is is a young urban singles bar lifestyle, that happens in this show to involve mostly gay people. But it makes us all look like whores, so for this reason, I don't like it.

Sometimes even the L-Word does the same thing, only L-Word is better written, directed and acted.

It's rather addicting once you get drawn into it. And I must say, Gale Harold isn't too bad-looking.
I've been a fan of the L Word for a while now, and only started watching QaF at a friend's suggestion. I still -very- much prefer the more in-depth plot of L, and think it's a wonderful and well-made show.
Queer as Folk is simply mild amusement, where I follow the L Word quite loyally.
They are fun, aren't they? :)

I love QAF although I have to admit I waited until it came out on DVD and then watched it without interuption which was way better. The showtime characters where much more real than the UK version on which the show was based, and the story lines engaging and more real. I think the picture it painted of the gay community was pretty acurate, the dark room sences are all to real in many towns, still who am I to judge. I loved it!.

Yes enjoyed the time the show was on managed to get off the shows on tape. It was cross section of the gay community from so called sissy boys to rough and tough of Brian. Justin and Debbie were the two of my favorite characters.

Yeah. I think there's too much emphasis on being gay! Like Will and Grace. You can't turn around without hearing that someone's gay. I hate that. I don't walk around saying gay every ten seconds. No ones life is like that, homo or hetero!

No, i dont really like that show becuz there is way too much sex related topic involved (I dont know if that is true in gay's community or not). So, I like Will and Grace much more!

QAF was far too stereotypical and played by straight guys... and could you imagine this *actually* going on in Pittsburgh? PULLEASE!

Now that the series is over... it has pretty much lost its appeal.
