Okay, here's the deal.

I am on ortho tricyclen, and last month, I started a packet as usual. I missed 3 pills in a row (days 6-8 of the month). I looked on the ortho info page and it says if you miss 3 or more white pills to throw away your pack and start a new pack. So I did that. So after 3 days of starting the new pack, I started my period. In other words, I'm on my period while in the white pills section. My question is will I have another period once I get to the green pills this month? My second question is....after this current period ends, can I start a new pack and just start all over like I usually do after a period? I am really at a loss for what to do...

I am not sexually active right now, so it doesn't matter to me if I am not protected from pregnancy for a little while. Thanks everyone!

Just keep on the schedule. You might get a period on the green ones, you might not. Just make sure you turn that little clicker every day so you know when to start the next pack. Keep it on schedule.

If you miss 3 in a row again, or so much as 2 in a row, you'll likely get a period, just FYI.

The point of the pill is to trick your body into thinking it's already pregnant so it won't ovulate. When the progesterone level drops, it sends a signal to slough the uterus. So don't miss!

I've been on ortho tricyclen for 8 years now. I use the Sunday start b/c it works best for me. Since you began a new pack it is normal for you to be bleeding- just continue taking a pill every day until the pack is empty. You may get your period again during the green pills or you may not- but don't be alarmed either way. Just follow your normal schedule as you would if you hadn't missed pills and your body will adjust accordingly. Good luck!

I was on Ortho for 2 years. My doctor told me that if I missed more than a day to throw the pack away and wait until after the next period to start again. Your periods will probably be out of whack for a little while, but once your body gets used to when your packs start and end, it will get back to normal.

Be really careful to not miss days! You may want to set an alarm daily to remind yourself--that's what I did for the first year.

Well hunny, i've been on the ortho tricyclen pill also...it's just reprogramming ur body to start again on ur cycle..u should have a period again when u finsh the second round.

But u really didn't have to toss it...u could of continue...but be careful. If u weren't active it wouldn't of done any harm...But u really never know when u might do something stupid and end up pregnant.

I'm glad u did as instructed in the info page....Good for YOU!! (appluse)

Ive taken every pill u can name. Don't listen to your Dr. I missed a few pills also from the pack. Don't throw them away. Just keep taking them the way you r supposed to, and yes its ok if will have a period while u r taking the white ones. I have before. Good Luck!!!

Thats happened to me before. It's probably not actually your period but breakthrough bleeding. I would just continue to use the pack that you are.
