If the finish on your cabinets is in good condition (no deep gouges or scratches) you could try cleaning them with TSP. It will remove any traces of grease. Then try putting a coat of Polystain (found in any Home Depot or Lowe's) in a color you want, on the inside of one of the doors. Use enough coats to get the right color, following the manufacturer's instructions on drying and/or sanding between coats. If it comes out well (doesn't peel or bubble) do the rest of them.

Use a chemical stripper to remove the old finish. I'd go with a non toxic variety. Some are citrus based and would be best used around food prep areas. After it is stripped just clean it with a light detergent and lightly sand any imperfections. Apply the stain of your choice. Good luck with it.

Just be sure to prep the cabinets properly before you begin re-staining them. Having a very clean, gloss free surface is important to achieving great results.

This page concerns the painting of cabinets, but the prepraration tips apply just the same for staining.

Hope this was helpful. Good luck!

there is no easy way if they are already finished you would have to spray them with an alcohol based stain and you would need the experience in order to mist the stain. The only other thing i can think of is the polurethane with stain mixed in it already but I have never seen it look nice when used. It's usually blochy.
