What is the proper order for a woman to wear a wedding band and an engagement ring? I have heard engagement ring then wedding band, however, I have also heard wedding band then engagement ring. I am confused. HELP!!!!

I was told by my great grandma that the proper way to wear the bridal set is the band close to hear and then the engagement ring. I had to take off the engagement ring for the ceremony and at the reception he placed the engagement ring back on. But she specifically said that the wedding band is close to the heart cause it should never come off.

The engagement band is worn over the wedding band, to protect if from fralling off.

I think that tghe engagement ring was traditionally a "guard ring" so it is supposed to be on the outside... when a person chooses two guard rings they go on either side of the band.

when wearing both, the wedding band goes on first. closest to the heart is a good way to remember this.
