bubble wrap is fantastic
1 you can lay it on the floor in mid summer and pretend it's crunchy
snow.
2 You can pop it between your fingers as stress relief.
3 It makes a rather smashing wall covering if your fed up with the cork tiles
4 You can use it as sound insulation if your a musician
5 you can wrap the bottles up in the back of the car when taking them to the recycle department at the municipal dump
6 If your bed mattress is on its last legs you can stuff the holes up with bubble wrap and it will be good for another two years
8 You could cover the rabbit hutch up with it and keep the bunnies warm in the winter.
9 With some silk flowers and an orange, you could make a rather attractive hat
10 you could wrap it round Mr Bongos head when he snores at night and errrrrrrrrrm well !!!!!! i better not go into that.
And those are just 10 of my favourite things to do with bubble wrap

Stuff the scientific reason, bubble wrap is just sooooo fun. It's so addictive just sitting there trying to pop every single bubble and when u've had enough of the individual approach you can relieve that last bit of stress by folding an unburst bit lengthways and twisting it to make them all pop at once! It's pure entertainment!

Well, basically Man likes to destroy, and popping those little air cells fulfils this basic need so that the primal urge is satisfied, thus getting rid of the stress that we all labour under trying to obey society's laws about killing each other off. People that do not have access to bubble wrap end up joining the army, gangs, terrorists movements and so on.

I would suggest that because bubble wrap is primarily protective in its design and nature, any attempt to destroy it, either by sheer devilment or simply by accident, must result in a sort of anti-climatical feeling when you realise that the bubble wrap just doesn't simply self-destruct but merely pops away in a sort of resigned acceptance which in turn increases one's own stress threshold ... making us feeling less stressed!
This is a bloody good answer ... just wish I understood it!!

It just is, though, isn't it.
I always liked that bit in Red Dwarf where Lister goes back in time to 'invent' the Tension Sheet, which is just bubble wrap painted red with the words "Tension Sheet" written on it.

there is no scientific reason but it is fun to pop the bubbles and listen to the sound of them popping. it just is one of the random things humans like.

I like to get a bog bit and screw it up to pop lots of bubbles at the same time.
Maybe it allows us to be destructive, without actually destroying anything valuable.

Enjoy!

its just good popping the bubbles, its great, but have you ever thought of where the air inside originated from, could have come from China or anywhere else in the world. Just think, the air inside the bubble could be full of germs or virus, just think of that!
