1. Thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, are held in bondage for debts they cannot hope to repay.

2. Children (and some adults) are kidnapped for sale to rich perverts.

3. US-based companies that have circumvented the constitution by moving slavery abroad in the name of profits, yet the profits and products of those actions end up in the US.

Apparently I did not specify enough:
1. The debt slavers deceive foreigners into thinking that they can pay for transportation into the US and then pay it off, then are entraped by interest they cannot repay at the rate they are paid.

2. The recent poser for Jon Benet's death should have alerted some people to this issue, but apparently most people don't care or can't put 2+2 together.

3. "Freemarket" is an oxymoron. "Fair trade" is still a dubious term, but mildly more respectable. "Free trade" circumvents international policy and, thus, undermines national sovereignty. Perhaps you would prefer to pledge your allegiance to a multinational corporation that buy and sell your sorry carasses?

Defending capitalism is one thing. Defending capitalism at the price of devaluing your own humanity is a very sad thing. Such a world deserves to wipe itself out. I will not lift a finger to save such a world.

I don't have to "feel" anything about the "idea." America was built upon slavery and slavery is the way of life in America today. When the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the middle class has been downsized, outsourced, and made redundant, such that many are getting a first hand view of life in the underclass for the first time...damn straight it's slavery!

No one should have to work three or more jobs around the clock to clothe, feed, and house their families. Oh...but I keep forgetting...the American Dream really is just A DREAM. It's the reality that's a nightmare!

You seem to be under the misimpression that slavery is not allowed under US law. The 13th Amendment (that broadly outlawed slave ownership and the trading in humans) makes specific exceptions allowing certain forms of slavery. That's how enforced prison labor remains a legal option.

To address your specific charges:

1. No-one is forced to take on debt. If you owe money, it is your own fault.

2. Nonsense

3. You sound like Pat Buchanon. Do you sincerely believe the "free market" should stop at the water's edge? You don't think that the market forces that built the US should be allowed to build the rest of the planet? Isn't that somewhat jingoistic?

Although all points are crudely summarized, that's what you call 'some of the basic elements of capitalism'... and I'd replace 'children (and some adults)' with 'products that are sold for prices well over their value'.

Being in debt has nothing to do with slavery, you should have not over spent.
