It's kinda like a diary. One person usually has their own site, and they can post whatever they want and people can comment on it.

Hi Annie, as poster PC93 indicated "blog" is short for "web log" or like an online diary. According to Wikipedia:

A blog is an online diary where people share their thoughts and daily activities.
Basically u write about what u feel like! About ur family, ur hobbies, ur school, studies, ur job, ur children, ur spouse, ur political views, or celebrities or maybe promote ur business-anything u want!
Due to the easy availability of online publishing tools, even an average internet user can start a blog.

Its like a public diary. You write a page or two about something you would like to tell the public (reviews, stories and play-by-play events that you may have experinced in your life. I think its pretty cool. I have one myself. I suggest blog.com.
