We have tried everything short of paying a plummer 65$$ an hour to fix it. We tried to plunge, use a snake...we even used muratic liquid lightning. I think my daughter may have dropped a small toy in there and it got lodged ...does any other professionals have ANY ideas of what to do!?

There are times in our life, when we have to bite the bullet so-to-speak, its passed that time for you. Call the Plumber.

If you've tried a snake and it was one made for a toilet then I must agree with rob's answer. Physically remove the toilet and attempt to retrieve any toy or foreign object from the trap via the underside. This would be the time to inspect the flooring under the toilet for damage also. Like rot from previous leakage or bad wax ring etc. A lot of older homes had toilets installed without flanges on drain pipe under toilet. They were just bolted to the flooring with a wax ring to seal the bowl to the pipe. I find it best to install a proper flange when I find this type. This allows the bowl to flange bolts (ones with flat heads) to be used and insures a better connection between the two. Of course you need a new wax ring regardless. If you do pull the toilet be sure to run water down drain to be positive the clog is "Not" further down the system.

FIRST- try a closet auger. It is made specifically for toilets. The are only about $15 at Lowes. If that doesn't do it.....

A toilet has a trap in it and the toy MAY be stuck in the trap. It is accesible without removing the toilet usually but you may need to remove it to get access to the bottom.

If the closet auger goes in without problem and the trap is clear and you STILL have a problem. Call the plumber.

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY TRIED ALL THAT, YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO TAKE THE TOILET UP AND TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN IN YOUR YARD, THEN IF YOU STILL DONT SEE THE CLOG RUN WATER THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF TOILET WITH A GARDEN HOSE AND MAYBE EVEN USE A SNAKE THROUGH THE BOTTOM ALSO, AFTER THAT MAKE SURE TO SET IT BACK WITH NEW BOLTS AND WAX SEAL AND CHECK FOR LEAKS, I AM A PLUMBER AND THIS IS THE WAY WE DO IT IF YOUR METHODS DONT WORK, SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO INSTALL A NEW TOILET BUT THIS USUALLY WORKS, GOOD LUCK.

cleansing soap of any variety, even for a dishwasher, heavily isn't adequate to split a clog. Drano is largely sodium hydroxide, an fairly good alkali which will decompose organic and organic cloth. even as it mixes with water it receives warm and the water can boil up so be careful it does no longer get on your eyes - Very undesirable. even if, it appears like the clog would nicely be faraway from the bathroom, so even putting Drano in received't do something until eventually it may get to the clog. you could opt to call a plumber with an prolonged snake.

you're going to have to try and fish whatever is in there, out.
You said you tried a snake, did you try the one made especially for toilets?

Also, a friend wound up draining the toilet and physically removing it, then turned it upside down, and there was the toy!

You most likely will need to take the toilet up and get what is out that way. It still most likely is in the bottom half of the toilet. Look for it from the bottom
