i agree and none of the female singers out today hold a candle to those back in the day, diana ross, aretha franklin, tina turner donna summers and even cher they r talent these others in my opinion cant sing they r only on stage as sex kittens to dance and there voices r electronically digitally enhanced. mariah carey has more talent than christina or any one out 2day, she has a voice as does celine dion and leann rhymes

I agree. Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, et al are divas not only because of their talent and hard work, but because their music has stood the test of time. Forty years from now, will we still be listening to Christina's music? Probably not.

I agree. The word was used Very loosely back in the late 90s/early 00s & was thrown at just about any female singer who did the vocal acrobatics thing. (which, IMO, is Totally played out & cliche now)

You are absolutely right! I don't like it either when someone is called a diva after releasing 1 or 2 albums, I wouldn't even call them "stars" then, only "celebrities".

I agree, its disrespectful to say or compare the truly divas, and the wannabes. They have to really earn it to be called divas

Most definitely I agree with you it's disrespectful & makes all those great singers seem like they achieved nothing by working so hard to get where they are at.!!
