Remember. Media hype existed then as it does today too. Except it was probably on a more grandiose, pervasive scale.

Actually, I was reading a bit about good old Cleo just the other day; she was not beautiful as has been depicted; Apparently she had a very long, bumpy nose and was quite unattractive physically; the thing that gave her an edge was her intelligence and her cunning; she was quite worldly and could hold stimulating conversations that astounded the men of her era...

i agree. I think what it is is that people only have drawing that the egyptians drew, so that is what they went by. I also think that the egytians portrade people that they respected and was a royal queen(or king) as more beautiful and greater than they actually are. Especially if they are ugly. Ha Ha. so maybe she was, and maybe she wasn't. it all depends on your outlook on the egyptians.

I think she was...Just by someones skeletons you can tell how their features were and what they might have looked like. They may have not found pictures but i am sure she looked the way they portrayed her. Black and beautiful,, true African features.

she may have been, or it could have been her charisma that drew people in - they may have not been able to explain it in any other way except through something tangible like physical beauty
