I love my cat. He is my little man. He is the king of the castle and he knows it. Momma gives him what he wants. Be it tuna fish, meow mix, lovin's, or to go outside. He always seems to get his way!!

Yes there are a lot of people that feel that way. We have 3 cats, 3 dogs, a rat, and a fish. I know for a fact that I would be lost without 1 of the dogs and 1 of the cats. They are buddies to boot. Do I understand what they are thinking and feeling? Yes, to some degree. Sometimes with the cat I have to wonder, wild cat running through the house makes me think he as lost all his marbles. But the dog, I never wonder. He is my bud and goes everywhere with me. The cat goes with us sometimes....They do understand your feelings. And they respond to the tone of your voice.

Yes. I have a calico and I call her my baby. I got her when she one month old and she was the cutest thing and still is!
I feel for the wild animals and the way people are developing their habitat. I'm really concerned about this and it's mainly because of the animals. I mean what right do we have to take over their homes and call it ours? It's not fair! If I could I'd buy the forests and make it into protected areas where there is no hunting.

I have 3 cats and 4 sugar gliders. They're all like my kids! They eat better than I do, sleep more comfortably than me (steal blankets) and take more in vet bills than I do at the doctor in any given year. They are soooo theraputic and really seem to understand - maybe not words, but voice fluxuation and emotion. When I had a single cat, he was my only source of security when I was single and my best friends moved hundreds of miles away. My boyfriend thinks it gets fairly excessive how defensive I am of them, but they give me unconditional love, you know?

I treat my animals as my children. When I get them as babies I treat them like they are part of the family and they seem to love it. My animals are part of the family and we treat them as such. There is No Crime in loving an animal. You can tell them anything and it will stay a secrete as for as they are concerned. In some cases an animal can be your best friend.. Love your animals as much as you want to and they will love you back no matter what anyone else says. I can tell you are a good pet owner. Stick to your beliefs and love your pet. bbabe

I think there are a few of us who feel able to communicate with pets. My husband is amazed that I can tell him what our dog or cats is "saying" and am proved right by their behavior. Be careful though, we are not to consider them as humans. They are our life companions sent by God out of His goodness.
I'm positive my last dog which died a year ago was Heaven sent. [long story] Isn't God great to do this for us? I have asked God to keep my pets for me in Heaven until I get there to join them.

Several years ago, we coined the word deople (Dog-pEOPLE, hybrid people) when refering to our dogs. They are smart, can communicate very well, can figure out problems, have a sense of humor, are loyal, loving, to some degree they understand right and wrong, are great company, are well mannered.
And speaking for my guys, in many ways, they are smarter the full-fledged people- they cooperate, they don't fight, they play well together, they share, they are always willing companions, they don't get jealous, they accept us without question or doubt for who we are are.
I agree with you.

Nothing wierd about it! At least not to me. My pets have always been my friends, and I once had a cat who was a best friend to me. Don't let people tell you that you are strange, wrong or anything like that. They just don't know what they are missing!

I too have always been sensitive to animals and sometimes prefer their company to that of people. But we mustn't shut ourselves off from the rest of the world. Our pets love us for who we are, just the way we are and where ever we are. They are not judgmental in any way. That's why we feel so comfortable with them.

I have two cats. I prefer them to dogs because they have more character and don't bark. I treat them well, but to be honest, I'm afraid I don't communicate with them in the way you do.
