Christian Bale got that whole brooding millionare with a dark secret-thing down in Batman Begins. He totally rocks as Batman.

* Michael Keaton was my favorite Bruce Wayne, but seemed a little stiff as Batman.
* Val Kilmer had the physical presence for Batman but utterly failed at Bruce Wayne
* George Clooney had a great shot at being both a good Bruce and a good Batman, but the story was too awful for words.
* Christian Bale certainly nailed the angst of both characters. I can't wait to see how he grows.
* Adam West. You have to have a certain soft spot for someone who could deliver those lines with a straight face "Bat Shark Repellant" and "Somedays you just can't get rid of a bomb."
So I'd have to say.....
Christian Bale.
Only because he managed to pull off the aloof charm of Bruce Wayne while still not looking awkward in the cowl. It's difficult because Bruce and Batman are such different characters. Though I still adore Michael Keaton!!!

I'm a fan of Micheal Keaton so he is my favorite Batman plus he started the movie dynatsy.
Now George Clooney probably fit the mold the best. He is much more masculine than Keaton, Kilmer, or this new guy, Christian Bale. He played Batman and Bruce Wayne both perfectly.
As far as Val Kilmer, I like him, but not as Batman. He is great but not tough enough.
Now this other newby, Christian Bale, please c'mon, what a joke.

I enjoyed Val Kilmer the best. Christian Bale second.
Also, Kevin Conroy perfected him, even though it was voice only on the animated series.
Clooney was the worst.
I'm also probably the only person on earth who thinks that Michael Keaton was nowhere near what Batman should be.

those are my picks , Michael Keaton was made for the "batman" role as far as im concerned and then Christian Bale was totally excellent in his portrayal of 'batman'

I'd have to say both old and new--Val Kilmer and Christian Bale both kicked *** in the batman movies! i can't wait to see more of the new batman triliogy! Its also interesting to note for Harry Potter fans that Sirius Black(Gary Oldman) and Chronicles of Narnia/Star Wars fans that Liam Neeson were both in the new batman which even kicked *** better!
