Tongue Piercings
Oral piercings usually heal within 4-5 weeks. Jewelry should not be left out because oral piercings can close fast.
Swelling is normal. Gently suck on small ice cubes, especially in the morning. Ibuprofen is also good for swelling. Slight jaw cramps might be present as your body adjust to the jewelry. Your tongue may feel uncoordinated since you are not used to having jewelry in your mouth. Keep your tongue level in your mouth. Eat foods that you do not have to chew a lot for the duration of the swelling.
*********You must rinse with Listerine after smoking, eating or drinking anything other than water or ice.
Keep hands, fingernails, pens, necklaces or any other foreign object out of your mouth. They carry bacteria and can infect you. Do not "play" with this piercing for at least 4 to 6 weeks such as clicking the barbell on your teeth, biting it, licking your lips, etc. Refrain from oral sexual contact for at least 4 to 6 weeks

Most people say it's safer to wait..but when I first got my tongue pierced, I drank. Nothing happened, except at first it burned a little bit. After that, it's no biggy.

The danger isn't really in the actual drinking. It is in the carelessness that we all tend to achieve while intoxicated. I would wait. You could do something that would hurt it without feeling as much pain as you usually would.

Why do you want to pierce your tongue?
You realize that theres going to be a piece of metal shoved through your tongue. It is going to chip your teeth (you will bite it on accident, same way you bite your cheek sometimes). It is going to be an inconvenience, to say the least.
And by the way, anyone who says it helps with oral sex is lying.
On top of which, if you just think it looks cool, its not even really visible.
But you're just going to ignore/refute what I have to say because you don't want to hear it. You'd rather make your bad decision.
Oh yeah, and go ahead and drink alcohol, people are retarded with myths like that.
