I read this today in a British newspaper, a computer technology graduate [ white male] applied for the gloustershire police force, however was sent a letter saying he had been rejected upon further investigaton he found out the facts in my question. Is the government purposly trying to piss off white guys for some reason?

The government have set stupid quotas for all civil service and forces jobs.
This means that the best person may be turned down for the job if they don't fit the profile needed to meet these targets.
The worst I ever heard of was in Leicestershire where a sikh applied for a job as a driver and got it DESPITE BEING LEGALLY BLIND. (And htis isn't BS it was used as a true example when work sent me on a stupid discrimination awareness course)

I dont know but if that person really wnats the job he can file for descriminantion. I know a place for a fact that i can not get a job at bc the guy told my husband that he refuses to hire women all they do is cut grass so but ne way that is what that guy can do if he really wants the job. That is not allowed they are not allowed not to say no just over race creed relgion color.

The police were given targets of ethnic minorities,by the Government,but this particular police force took it upon themselves to do what they did. They have admitted "they went overboard".The person in question,took them to a tribunal,and they now have to pay him £2,500 in compensation! I would say,its this particular police force who are taking the p*ss, out of the taxpayer! We are the ones who now have to pay,not them!!!
