Well, what is your project on? Last year I helped my brother (who is now in grade 9, I'm in 12) with an environmental impact project. We took pea plants and exposed them to different conditions. One we watered with fertilizer every day, and it sat in the very sunniest spot, one we watered with just regular tap water and it sat in the sun, we watered one with vinegar and water mixed and it sat in the sun, we placed one in the dark, etc. and compared the effect each variable had upon the growth of the plant...it was actually really interesting to see the results.

All kinds of cool space stuff. Combine with above suggestion - planets.com and have a great time finding a project.
