Are you serious or just parroting something you heard someone say? Try doing a ratio, us to them. Then cry and moan and attack the president.

You people get stupider all the time.

To begin, I have to admit there are some pretty good, sound answers here. The death tolls have gone down dramatically and yet many soldiers, on both sides, and civilians, too, die.

Truth is, it is not the President who says what equipment goes and what does not. He is probably the last person in line to know what's even available! For just a part of that answer one must look to Congress, which are many minds with very differing opinions. While you're there looking at the debates also understand there are budgets to consider. How much for bombs, bullets, body armor, and beans!

It's very complicated. And it's not merely the will of a President.

War kills no matter how advance the armies who fight them may be. The death toll in Vietnam five years into that war was approaching 100000. Bush has managed to keep it under 5000.

Your question leads me to believe your more interested in Bashing Bush than expressing any real concern for the lives of soldiers lost. I wish you and all your fellow Bush whackers would just get over it. There is nothing that you can do or say that will derail this war. It will be finished. It will be won by the coalition forces, and all the lives sacrificed to its victory will make the world a better and safer place, starting with the middle east!

Look at how many were killed in a single battle during WW2, thousands were killed, What the boys and girls are doing today is Unbelievable, I feel useless, wish I could help. I have been in the Military, but nothing like these boys and girls are going through. At 76 ain't much I can do anymore. Love them all for protecting us and our free-dome. Without them over there, they might have to be right here in the good ol U.S.A. fighting.

If you look back through history you will see that the numbers of deaths has reduced greatly during war time. We have some of the most advanced weapons ever, but during the times of hands on war fare, we still lose some brave soldiers.

An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind, honey. War is war and despite who has what, people will die. Quite frankly, if people believe in a war without death then they are, pitifully, living a life in pure oblivion.

We have the best quipped military in the world , but how do you defend car bombs, people with bombs straped to themselves, ambush.I can remember when I was in the Army of hearing of 10 or 15 people being killed in training each couple of months . That was happening in this country. To oceanSofl, your answer was so stupid. Gizmo, you sound like one of the people I served with in Nam. You are right on.

Our Military suffers some casualties from being "too cautious" in my opinion. In some hostile areas I support Carpet Bombing to clear out any hidden insurgents.
If there are innocent civilians amongst them our fighting forces and we back home must realize that we did not put them in that situation, the cowards who hide amongst them and will not face us courageously did.
Therefore I hope that all soldiers understand that I support their efforts and refuse to blame them for these casualties, I know who to blame.

Are you kidding? Hundreds used to die every week before technological advances made it a little safer.

If you were put into shooting gallery how long do you think you'd last before someone figured way to pop you off. Bring 4/5 of troops home.
