I have read that, in general, the White population in America has an IQ of about 100, that East Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Koreans) have an IQ of about 104, and Blacks have IQ of 85. (These values are all AVERAGE IQs for each race).
Is this true? Also, is there a strong correlation between IQ and SAT scores, and between IQ and undergraduate GPA?
Some say that the low average IQ of Blacks is mainly due to overt and institutionalized racism. Others claim that low Black IQ is due to Black culture discouraging working hard or excelling at school (for example, consider McWhorter's arguments). Still others (such as Herrnstein and Murray) claim that low Black intelligence is due mainly to genetics or innate characteristics of Blacks.

Also you must consider the intragenerational and intergenerational poverty of any low scoring class ... personally I agree with many that suggest that IQ is not the best measure of a human's ability to function, but it is at least somewhat of a standard
Also most of the yahoo answer people would score about 75 so don't expect any good answers .... Plus most people have no clue how statistics and probability work ... they just give isolated examples ....

Did you also happen to notice Jewish Americans score on average 113 (tested conducted by Herrnstein & Murray [1994] )?
These test are fallible as they were all created by middle aged white men using there own limited knowledge. How smart any race is cannot be determined by a standardized test. Environment plays a huge part.

I'm Black and my IQ is between 120-125. My GPA is 3.70.
