I have a Razr and the other day it got a little wet from the rain.
At first it wouldn't work AT ALL. Then I let it dry out and it started working a little, and then towards the end of the day it worked allright. Now I have a couple keys that don't work, Top Left, Bottom, Messages, Right, Six, Eight, and *.

I don't have the insurance on it, so I'm not sure what to do.
Someone mentioned getting it repaired, but I was just wondering how much that would cost and if it will totally fix the problem.

Try and take it to a repair place they might be able to clean the board for cheap. But if not just ask if they have any used phones that you can buy . A water damaged phone could end up having more problems down the road.

First, I would sit it in the oven on the lowest setting. Not more than 150°F Most electronics can go to this temp when off. That should dry off most moisture. If you need to open it up,
It requires a small torx bit. The screws are under the rubber pads that contact when it is closed.
be very careful not to lose the little screws,
You may have a contact problem where the touch pad plugs in or moisture in the pad. Most phones have a little paper indicator inside to tell the manufacturer if the phone has been wet. This will give you an indication of how wet the phone got inside.
If it was repaired, I am sure it would fix the problem otherwise you could take it back and say 'you charged me to fix this problem and it still bad, fix it again and get it right this time!"

There is no repair for a water damanged phone - I would see if you can add the insurance to your line while you can still use the phone a little. If this is not an option for you then I would say start searching for a used phone. I work for a cell company and the phone only gets worse after getting wet.

Yes you can . Operators in the industry benefit from having an established reputation of reliable service and high-quality repairs. Thus, although the industry has low barriers to entry, it does have moderate barriers to success. Low start up costs allow companies to enter the market easily. As many cell phone repair businesses offer similar or identical services, reputation can sway a customer to choose a specific business with a reputation for high-quality service. New entrants must have a strong knowledge of changing technological trends in the cell phone industry.

it's not worth it...just buy a new phone. unless you know how to repair it yourself, you really can't trust people to repair it because they might even break it more. i used to work for a cellphone company. i say it's not worth it at all. you can sell your broken phone on ebay for some money. people actually buy those phones. but, you might as well just get a new phone.

Razrs really don't cost that much anymore, maybe you could even get a used but working one from ebay or something for less than the cost to repair it.
