Acids do not usually catch on fire as they are not flammable themselves. Many are very aggressive though and will react violently with organic materials which results in a class A fire (see ref.)
Class A fires are best extinguished with Water or CO2 extinguishers.
In the case you have quite a bit of acid use a CO2 extinguisher as adding water to acid will make it heat up really fast and could get you spattered in acid from the bubbles forming.
