The horse was kidnapped or horsenapped by the IRA, killed within 24 hrs and was buried in Southern Ireland. As far as I know the IRA admitted they had done it but no-one was ever caught, tried and convicted. There is a rumour the gang responsible was a splinter of the official IRA and they themselves recieved a punishment beating before being killed, but as I say this is a rumour!

well, they say he got nicked...and chopped up...but see all those horses that are coming out now, really successful ones, they could be the spawn of shergar...thats what my husband says anyway...lol
