I'd say the role of World Leader, as in it was customary for him to go, just as Clinton would have gone if Pope John Paul II had died in Clinton's term.

none. his role was christian. first of all i do not subscribe to any religion. second, bush is a christian, is that a problem? third, if he hadnt gone everyone would find it necessary to bring that up too. i guess he's royally danged, again. apparently to some people he can't do anything right.
