it is your friend so you must go or your friend would be hurt.you don't have to stay all night as long as you show your face then your friend will be happy.also talk to your friend tell him or her that you don't like going to party's but you will come for an hour or so for them.you never know you might enjoy the party as all party's re not the same.

Spooky cos it's my 30th soon and I'm having a party. Hope it's not one of my friends. If this was my situation so to speak, I would understand that you didn't like parties as I would be your friend, I should know this anyway!
It would be nice to make an appearance at the beginning of the night, probably before a lot of people arrive. If you start to feel uncomfortable, then you can make your excuses and leave. If there are a lot of other people coming you friend is not going to feel lonely without you being there. On the other hand you may get chatting to people have a few drinks and then find half the night has gone without you really noticing it.
The main thing is not to upset your friend, it is her birthday and as a friend she will want you to be there, if only for a short while. We sometimes have to make sacrifices for other people just to make them happy even though it is something you really don't want to do.

Friends are important. We love our friends. Do it for her. Use the following tips: First - look gorgeous. Make sure you look fab and you're self-esteem will be high. Then fake confidence and go in with an open mind and be ready to laugh and banter with people. And if all else fails, do exactly as Bridget Jones (and pretty much all of us women) would do .. stand in a corner and get yourself drunk. Or have a drink before you go. Dutch courage.

Go and have fun, dont have the mentality before you try it that you wont like it. You may well have the time of your life..
If you dont go what kind of friend does that make you? How many people dont like work but go.... and friends are more important than work.. so hun... get your glad rags on and have a good time hunni.. Worst comes to worse.. show your face and tell her your not comfortable.. least that way you would have made a huge effort.. :)

You have to suck it up and go. Think if it was your birthday, how would you feel if one of your good friends didn't turn up because they don't like parties. Like it or not you would probably be hurt that they put their own feelings before yours. Think possitive and you might find you actually have fun, maybe you never have a good time because you always go expecting it to be bad. Give it a chance, you might even meet someone hot. lol.

Sometimes we have to do things we don't like doing to please friends and family so go and make an effort you never no you might actually enjoy yourself. Also think if the boot was on the other foot would you be disappointed if your friend didn't come to your party

just go, she's your friend. no matter how much you hate parties, i'm sure your friend would love it if you go and you'll have a great time, but if you don't then at least you know what to do next time!good luck..

I'm a bit like that too. suggest you plan to do something with your freind on another day and try to just show your face for an hour on the night

I went to a party im march that I was dreading. I spent the night saying 'brace yourself' and getting p*****d. It was a very memorable occasion, lol.
