What they do is take a razor or knife and literally scrape the clitoris off of the women, with no anesthetic and no antibiotics. After the procedure, they bind the womans hips for 40 days to allow the wound to heal. Yes it is done, to remove any sexual pleasure a woman may have. Many women die from it.

Thanks for you question. I am going to read the book you mention as I don't know enough about this topic. I've only seen one documentary, which I found very disturbing.

Don't they actually cut off the girl's clitoris, with the intention of her not being able to experience much sexual pleasure or be able to orgasm? This is supposedly going to stop a woman from cheating on her husband or from her desire ing to cheat.

There would in reality not be a guarantee that a woman in this predicament would not cheat, since she may want to cheat because she is just not happy with her husband,, or the society that has done this to her!!
