I'm tired of seeing those poor starving children with flies in their face. Even I can make a banana leaf flyswatter using my McGyver tools, but this idea isn't catching on for some reason. Now I'm not a cruel person, but along with food and essentials, hasn't this idea come across to anyone? Go ahead, you get a point either way,, lol..
Have fun!

Actually for all you "oh what a horrible post this is, but replied"... keep this in mind, I'm aware of the reasons that the flies are there, and it's not because of disease, its' due to the fact that bodies are decomping around the camera, but it's not showed on tv.. DUH,, still,, I have a valid point.. flies carry disease, especially after depositing and landing on bodies decomposing,, and then ..I'm saying, If you send food,, and medicine, why not send instruction of flyswatters,, ???

Do you want to be the one to hand a starving person a fly-swatter? They need more than that. A good insectacide that is also safe for people who's immune system is poor would be good. There's been talk about DDT (ABC's 20/20)...but you'd be crazy to spray that stuff around sick and dying people. That would just give them another problem that would last for generations.

We already send them medications and food, but the war in Iraq has severally cut back our kindness fund...we just don't have the extra cash anymore.

Actually that is a very brave question. However sad it is, the fact IS that in poor third-world countries, insects on the faces of children comes second to the main problems, which are starvation, lack of clean water, ravaging, out-of-control disease epidemics, medical aid, agricultural equipment, and education.
The fact is, nobody notices, in spite of the fact that it is offensive and heartbreaking to see on television.
It should hardly be the point of any joke, for it is not funny.

like the way you think ! Lol...
The instructions should include variety too...male flies are the ones sitting on the beer cans, and females are the ones sitting on the telephones....

really, you'd think if the got rid of some of the flies they might just get rid of some of the diseases too.
