I don't live there, but I did go on a trip there this past spring and it was so much fun! There is so much to do there. Somethings you might be interested in seeing if you like touring and history are the Tower of London, Hampton Court, and just the town in general. My friends and I even just rode the double-decker buses around for a while. (Actually, we got lost, but it was a lot of fun) Also London is great for shopping, dining, and plays. They have this one street, not sure of the name, but all along are different Broadway and off- Broadway like plays. If you like music from Queen there is an awsome show called We Will Rock You! that sells out every night. (I think it's sold out every night since it opened)
Hotel rooms, at least the one I stayed at, were very small. Other than that they have good food, good beer, and good times.
Food and drinks were realtively cheap compared to Paris, but the exchange rate is almost double. So everything you buy is almost double the price it is in the US. (I'm just guessing that you're from the US, sorry if I got it wrong)
I would recommend London to anyone.

Don't bother.
It's a rat-race type city.
Dirty.
Full of "you can't do that" people.
Unbelievably expensive.
One stop on the subway costs 3 pounds (about US5.50) and they recently announced it going up to 4 pounds.
If you're used to paying, say $70 for a hotel room per night, get used to the idea of paying 70 pounds (or more) in the UK (not just London) for a hotel per night PER PERSON.
A rule of thumb is that you pay in pounds what you would normally pay in dollars in North America.
So many folk who go to the UK for a visit only go to London.
It's a real shame.
The rest of the country is much better to see and enjoy.
Folk tend to be nicer, too.
You've been warned.
If you go, seriously lower your expectations. And bring a big wallet

Was born there but now live in Canada. Love visiting but because I have lived here so long I find the pace in England to be much slower. Great place for shopping though but their stores close earlier than ours.

You've got to have a good amount of money because it's an expensive city, but it's worth every penny you spend there.
