How to tip a taxi?

how much should I tip a taxi?

Usually tipping of a taxi or limo driver is just a flat rate amount.. 2-3 dollars. A lot of taxi companies lease the cars to the drivers (i.e. the driver pays the company $200 a day for the car, then anything he makes over that amount is pure profit). There are, of course, exceptions to this rule, but for the most part it holds true. Also, like all instances on tipping, if you feel the service was not satisfactory, you should not feel the need to tip at all.

Good service = better tip
Poor service = smaller tip

I will vary from 10% to 20% myself. I used to work in a tipping job. (not taxi).

The people telling you not to tip have obviously never done so. Otherwise they would know that people who get tips are paid a smaller hourly wage. The tips are supposed to make up the difference.

I know there's a difference in the jobs, but when I tip a taxi, he WILL come when I call again, and not keep me waiting.

If you recieve good service,ie.the driver opens door, is pleasant, handles packages, consider tipping.In my area taxi drivers are paid 35 % commision before taxes. For a $40 fare, around here a $8. tip would be good

The easiest way to "TIP A TAXI" would be to JACK it up & put a jack stand right in the middle of the car - then U can TIP it
anyway U want - FRONT 2 REAR or Side to Side ! Gezzzzzzz

Every mile he drives you pay an added tip on that mile. They add up so he's just fine. No tipping for Taxis, save it for college waiters.
