First of all, aptly define how you win a war. Here's a hint: first it would involve defining the reason for the war, its objectives, parties involved, etc. Secondly, name a war that we started. Thirdly, name a war that we didn't help some other country win. When you have all that down, Einstein, then we'll talk. Until then, go on ignorantly enjoying your freedom to post moronic questions like this one.

Hmmm -- I don't think your question is accurate:

Wars US started (do you mean declared?) and didn't win

War of 1812 - check

Mexican American war - check

Civil War - check (well, 1/2 the country won anyway)

Spanish American War - Check

WWI - since war was delcared on Germany, We'll count it - Check

WWII - again - war was declared on Japan - check

So far - 6 - 0 for wars the US declared and came out with victory.

Then we get to the others:

America Revolution - technically we weren't a country then, but we did come out with a victory. (7-0)

Korean - didn't start (ended in truce - 7 -0-1)

Vietnam - more of a political war, not technically a declared war, but US didn't start the conflict This is hard to count, since it wasn't really a loss, but not really a truce either - we withdrew
(7-1-1)

First Gulf war - we didn't start that either, but considered a temporary victory in my book. (8-1-1)

War on Terror -- began after 9/11 attacks, so we didnt' really start this one either. This isn't finished yet.

Iraq war -- not over yet, so result is forthcoming

With the war on Terror and Iraq war, they are not something that can be finished with a simple treaty signing. More, much much more, is at stake on a global level. A major way of life is held in the hands of some nut-jobs which will have world-wide ramifications.

I welcome any comments, as long as they are backed up by facts.

The U.S. militarily has not lost a war and also has not actually started one either, retard. If you're referring to Korea it was started by North Korea with the help of China; Vietnam was being fought by the French first; Iraq invaded Kuwait in the 1st Gulf War and now the 2nd Gulf War is far from a loss, we're fighting guys wearing dresses with towels wrapped around their heads and high on drugs. Also is a big win for us and the world.

Well I wouldn't take them on. If America was not a superpower, the Soviet bloc would still be in place, and possibly even twice the size that it was. The world would be a much poorer, sadder place.

Short of killing all the indigenous population what do you do. In this modern world small arms and explosives seep in from any number of sources. There is always likely to be hostility to foreign occupying forces.

I notice the Americans, to a dog, go round ticking the bad answer boxes. Since I've been on yahoo A s I have never seen 7 in one box before. Typical. It won't change the facts that they need help all the time. All I can say is Hizbullah. And some of us are thankful that the Soviets have powerful nukes still otherwise we will live in fear of morons like GWB and his merry band of crooks.

Because there are NO true Americans apart from the Native Americans, you are a mongrel race from the rest of the World, thats why so many people want to live there, because maybe they have relatives, your racist comment is a reflection of the attitudes that people have

We didn't start this one either. And though you are undoubtedly loathe to admit it, we are winning this one.

If you had any love for Western civilization you would quit your griping and get behind it.
