yep,got the programme but it wont connect to any directory.how do i solve this.

Why do you need to use netmeeting on XP? That went out with the ark! If you want to see your contact on webcam, you have the facility to do so on MSN messenger.

NetMeeting is dead.
Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo Messenger will provide the same service.
There are also other out there like AIM and so and so.

if you have two pc's in network want to share data betweent them
make sure they are in the same workgooup
Click start button and right click on my computer
In the computer name tab change the workgoup to MSHOME for all the PCs do the same steps and restart it might work
