Next door are playing music?

like a group of idiots. My kid's can't get sleep.Should I go and knock them out?

grrrrrrrr this can be sooooo annoying- you feel like you have to give a little bit of leeway because its Friday night.
You go round, knock on the door, they can't hear it.
You put a bag of charcoal up against the door and set fire to it., they don't even notice the flames.
You put their windows through and defecate in their oven- they think you're a prankster.
If you can get them to answer the door try asking them to be a bit considerate. If you get no response (they might go to a club before coming back) leave a note on the door signed by a bunch of neighbours asking them to be quiet.
If that doesn't work, wait til the drugs and drink wear off at about 11am the next morning and dip all the cigarettes you can find in petrol.

Keep a log of the incidents and report them to the environmental health people at the Local Council.
The Council will visit the neighbour who will realise it was you what complained and they will come round and knock you out. Keep a log of these assaults and pass it to the Police who will come round and speak to the neighbours who will complain that you are harrassing them at which point you will be arrested thrown into the cells and you will at last be able to get away from the music and get some sleep.

I had this problem with students partying next door to early hours of the morning- after repeatedly asking them nicely to turn their music down, I decided to get my revenge. I got up at 5.30 a.m. for work, after a bad night of loud music, I then placed my hifi speakers facing the offender's adjoining wall and blasted my hifi with a siutably loud rock track. Apart from frightening my wife, asleep in bed, it worked. The students were very quiet after that.

Make a racket early Saturday morning to wake them
- try drilling/hammering/banging
Start early again on Sunday morning with ClassicFM turned up

If it's happening a lot, and late at night, report them to the Environmental Health dept at your local Council.
As annoying as it may be, unfortunately, in the eyes of the law, it's not late, etc. Difficult I know, esp. as you have kiddies.
Try to keep on reasonable terms. Life could be v. unpleasant if you're at war. Good luck!

Call the police. If your neighbors are disturbing the peace, you have a legitimate complaint.

But first try to talk with them and reason with them. If they are unreasonable, THEN call the police. Also, keep complete records of everything that transpires as evidence, in case it goes to court.

if you're in the UK dial the number 101 this is none emergancy police, ambulance and fire crews, they will dispatch a vehicle to you and sort out the neighbours. Works for me
