Are republicans so loyal to their party that they are willing to support an incompetent president?

I'm not a Republican...but given what I am told Republicans believe in...he does not represent their core issues aside from one area...religion...and that's why he is president. Apparently, religious folks (I'm referring to the extreme ones) are not worried about the economy, the war, or anything not related to their "religious" centered concerns. For me the scary part of that is that the are not worried, because a great many of them (I personally know a few) believe that God's end time plan is unfolding and things like the environment don't really matter, cause it will all be gone pretty soon anyway. What's a little global warming...when the oven is about to go life...kinda like pre-heating the oven...which my wife makes me do every time...why does that matter...I just want to stick my fries in the oven and go...why do I have to wait.....sorry I digressed...

Certainly seems that way. I know many republicans who loathe him, yet others seem to support him exactly because he identifies as a republican, and they have some sick, demented value, that somehow, because they voted for him, they have to support him no matter how completely incompetent he is almost 7 years later. Anyone who says his track record as president is a good one is either blind or COMPLETELY retarded--illiterate, perhaps.

Many Republicans don't agree with all of President Bush's policies but I think they find them better than what Gore or Kerry had to offer.
