Adware are programs that are bundled with other software. They can do any number of things, but most commonly cause random pop-up ads to appear.

If you can't uninstall it thru "add/remove programs", get a program called "ad-aware se". It's a free download, I get mine from download.com, and it does an excellent job of sniffing out ad-ware and spy-ware.

Adware is a software program installed on a computer, with or without the user knowledge, which displays ads and other forms of advertisement. For example, adware can deliver popups while you surf the Internet. Another example, when you run a search, adware can display links to their products.

Oftentimes, adware in bundled with other software. For example, you installed a toolbar but by doing so you also install some adware. It is the price you pay for "free products." Ethical software vendors inform potential users that by installing their software that they also agreeing to have their adware installed as well. Typically, the latter is spelled out in the end user license agreement (EULA).

Most users don't want adware installed on their computers. Oftentimes, you can remove the adware by going to Control Panel > Add/ Remove Programs.... However, adware is sometimes very hard to uninstall. When this happens, you need to turn to an anti-spyware / adware program to remove it. There are a number of free anti-spyware/ adware programs. The 2 most popular are Spybot Search & Destroy and Lavasoft's Ad Aware. You can download both at:

If you are talking about Adware SE from Lavasoft it is an anti spy ware program and pretty good and free with up dates (at leadt there is a free version) If you use it becareful to only delete the critical objects as the others may include some of the things you need on computor
