How do these well reported browsers operate alongside Internet Explorer. Will the two (or more) run in harmony? Will I have to uninstall I.E......? ...and how about email accounts - will I have to use multiple email addresses?
Can someone explain the issues simply please!! Thanks v.much

There are quite a few alternative browsers to choose from. Firefox is the most popular of the alternatives, and you can have as many other browsers as you wish. For instance there's Opera, Maxthon, Avant and Slimbrowser. Google each of them for more information.
Never ever get rid of IE, it's part of your Windows package and you need IE for Windows Update.
You will still be able to use your email accounts whatever browser you decide to choose.

Firefox is a free browser that is AMAZING. It has super cool plug-ins and tons of security. Less virus attacks and great features. In fact the beta release of IE ripped off a ton of these features. You can download firefox and run it perfectly fine along side IE. I would just till you get used to it. The email accounts will not pose a problem at all. There is not one negative thing that can happen from running all three of these browsers at the same time.

Firefox and Opera are the best alternatives to IE - to be honest IE is considered pretty rubbish because security holes are constantly being found.
You don't have to uninstall IE to run firefox or opera and they will run in harmony absolutely fine. Not sure what you mean about e-mail, but you can use the same accounts with any browser simultaneously so don't worry about that either.

I'd get firefox from www.getfirefox.com - very easy to use and very secure (compared to IE).

You do not need to uninstall IE.

I have both, and I like Mozilla best, but some sites don't play well with it... So, I will click onto IE, and it will be okay.

They are pretty much the same, but I have less problems with Mozilla. Also, theirs is not plagued as often by viruses. (or so my brother tells me...)

*** EDIT ADD IN ***

For the email problem, try the Mozilla Thunderbird.

You can set that up with ALL your email accounts, and it will pull ALL of your emails from all the sites, without you having to do much but click. (For instance, I have AOL, yahoo, jager, msn, and a few other email accounts, and I open Thunderbird, and VIOLA! All my mail, from all my accounts are there!

It's GREAT!

Here's the link to look at it. I think they even have a demo on the site... http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/

Yes, firefox and other browsers work well alongside IE. You dont have to uninstall IE. You can continue to use your existing email accounts by just signing into it as you do on IE.

Dump IE, it's outdated and can't cope with modern standards as it has never been really updated. Get Firefox for free from Google, you'll love it.

Mozilla is from Google also.

They run alongside ie. You do not have to remove ie. You can use either or both at the same time. It doesnt mess with your mail or anything, its just a broser. It the same as using msn messenger and yahoo messenger. They can run alongside eachother, no biggie. Just download and install, youll see, and youll like it.
