It does not take much to get started as a realtor, but generally you will need savings to support yourself for a year, before your income picks up. However you might try getting a salaried job in the real estate field first to see if it is what you want to do.

Take a real estate course and pass the test. You don't need a "foot in the door. It's always easy to find a job as a real estate agent because you don't get paid, until you make a sale.

The real estate scholl will probably have a frequen "open house," so students can meet prospective realtors.

Thanks for reminding me - I have to study for my real estate test!

You want to buy real estate or you want to work in real estate?
You don't need money to work in that field. As for buying - if you have a steady job, you can buy real estate with no money down. Your payments will be pretty big though.

if you have 6 months of expense put aside and if you like to deal with peoples money and stress ,it may be the right job for you, unless you dont like to deal with other peoples investments and end up with a big mortgage to yourself , you may want to do some research ,trust me on that one, i been there!
