Ive just been reading here about a number known as a googol (1 followed by 100 zeros) and googolplez(a googol a googol times)

My number is a googolplex a googolplex times{a zombocom) do I have rights to this new number. Its a big number, if you were to write it down it would take you ages and you would run out of ink and paper a few times

I'm sorry but numbers go on forever, you could have a googolplex ^500, and that doesn't mean I made up a number even though you don't write it down in full terms (including every 0) it has always been a number, sorry! But, No, you didn't make it up.

No, you can't.

You didn't "invent" the number anyway. Numbers have been invented, and if you count long enough you will get to your number which is only 10^400 (which will not make you run out of ink, and in fact you could probably do it on on sheet of paper).

All you did was make up a name for a number. Oh yeah, you are a genius...

you may have a right over th ename if you have invented and obtined a patent for it . but there will always a number higher tha your googley googlliee google plus as numbers are infinite and there is always a numer higher than any number and ther is no highest number and nobody bothers to specify any higher number by any specific name now as there is a very convenient short cut to express any number as powers of some number. You can call any number byany name and no one would bother about that name even if you request them to use that name . so you need have no apprehension that others would use the name you have discovered .Discover the higest specific Number -not the unquantifiable abstract name of infinity. you will get a nobel prize.and perhaps much more than that . you will be the greatest inventor of all times to come !

You can surely get the patent for it if you can write down (not print) the full number a zombocom times in all the numerical notations. You see the guy who patented thousand had to write that number 1000 times in all the notations.

No one has the right to google, except as a search engine name. It was designed as a joke by the child of a mathematican. You can copyright the name but who would use it? I'll just make up my own for the same number.

I'm afraid all the numbers have been bought up and patented in the 70s. Only ones left are the imaginary numbers. I personally own 3i. (I.e., 3 times the square root of -1.)

I am worried you are planning to steal my invention - obviously though you haven't yet applied for the rights which I have already done - do you want to know how many days back ? It will be your zombocom number of days by the day after tomorrow !! Incidentally, if my patent is through, please note that the name would be what I called it viz ha!ha!ha!
Who said maths can't be funny ?

You haven't invented a number, they all have always existed.
You have named a number. You could try trademarking it if you want to keep people from using it (the name), but then what's the point?

Actually, u can write the number which u have proposed bya really simple method... u dont have to waste too much of ink, paper etc too! all u have to do is write 10 to the power of 100!!!

I am sure you must be Indian because zero was invented by Indians otherwise the world will still be groping in stone age. I think this will take the world to a new age.
