It's hard for a musician that knows anything about music to dislike a group like Queen. Anyway I can name many songs by Queen that I like much better than Bohemian Rhapsody. Anyone who only knows Queen for that particular song isn't really a true Queen fan (i'm not referring to you, but the loads of people that jumped on the Bohemian Rhapsody bandwagon after Wayne's World.)

I accept as true with you that cutting-component music has long gone downhill, and that i too hear to quite some 70's/eighty's stuff. although, i don't think of rap is thoroughly misplaced. Rap would be very useful and strong, supplied it fairly is have been given some thing greater appropriate to chat approximately than capping human beings and maligning women folk. As for cutting-component rock, the state of issues is incredibly appalling. each and every little snotnosed emo band available's a watered down version of Iron Maiden and that all of them know it. Take an Iron Maiden music, slow it down, make the bassline less difficult, and make the guitar areas ridiculously ordinary, and you have approximately each and every music that Fall Out Boy/Panic on the Disco/MCR/and so on. does. The drumming continues to be ridiculous, yet enable's positioned some shredders lower back on the axes and get somebody on the bass who is familiar with a thank you to deal with that component.

I agree with the first statement but disagree with the last. Bohemian rhapsody was the only one they did that I did like. A classic

I think they are a good band but highly overrated by most people.
As for Bohemian Rhapsody, it was quite a good idea for a sig, but again has been hyped up to the point of being ridiculous.

Queen was one of the most influential rock bands ever. Chances are very good that at least some of the musical artists you do like were inspired by Queen's music.

I think you have some anger management issues.
What did Queen do to you? Their music is WAY more complex than most of what is on the radio these days. They wrote excellent songs/music. If you can't respect that, it suggests something about your music listneing experience. (ie. very limited and/or close minded)
Lemme guess, you're one of those people who thinks that music can get old. Please! Anyone who 'listens' to music knows that if a song is good once, it is good forever. Not like this recylced, taste-of-the-month, pop sh1t that we get beat over the head with these days.

Curious to know what song(s) *you* consider great work, Lex....
EDIT:
Just got an email from LEX himself. Ok- I'm *sorta* willing to let the blanket statement about Queen slide only because he admitted being "beered up at the mo'" & he happens to be a classic rock lover. He cited Pink Floyd & PF-related works as great..
Can't disagree *there*, but I certainly don't hate Queen. One of the greats to me...
Figured I wasn't the only one here who'd be curious to know what he likes...
