I had both at the same time. The kidney stones were a b i t c h and all, but giving birth was worse. I had back labor with my son, and that was FAR more painful!

Well my bf has had kidney stones. He says they have been really painful. His sister seems to think that kidney stones are much more painful than giving birth. I tend to agree. Delivering a baby only lasts as long as the labor. Once the baby is born, most of the pain is gone. (sure there are exceptions, like complicated births, etc.) Kidney stone pain comes and goes, and comes back again. So you never really know when the pain will strike with stones!

Actually doctors have said that passing a kidney stone can be equivalent to the pain of giving birth. Depending on how big the stone is or how complicated a pregnancy might be.

I've given birth twice. Both with no drugs. I have had 2 kidney stones. I had a lithotripsy for one because it was the size of a golf ball and I passed the other one which was really small (I was 14!!!!). The one when I was 14 was worse than death!!!! It took my over 10 hours to pass it and I truly thought I would die. It was far worse than child birth.

I've given birth and have had NUMEROUS kidney stones; personally, I'd say kidney stones are worse, but pretty darn close to labor pains....If a guy asks me what kind of pain a woman has when she's in labor, I always ask if they've had kidney stones; if they have, then I say now you know what labor feels like;

I have never had kidney stones but I have given birth and I have heard people say that they both feel alike.For me I would have to say birth.

I think passing a kidney stone is about the closest thing a man will ever come to feeling the pains of birth. Woman-to-woman, we know it's birth!

Surely it is giving birth whilst you have a kidney stone!

Like any pain its purely subjective but for myself having had both , for my pain wise a kidney stone was worse because i had an epidural with my daughter. My kidneys stone was a raw mind blowing pain which i won't forget.
