Pull up on the foot pedal, if that doesn't work you may have to adjust it.

The light is also used as a warning for other brake problems

apply the the hand brake again and this time when you release it make it travel all the way to the deepest stopping point, this will make the light go off if you have the brake on slightly. it doesn't means the brake is really on and it's dragging, but it does indicate that you didn't return the release entirely to its proper full release position. is you have completely re-released the brake and it's still on turn your self upside down and slide your head and a flash light up in to the travel of the brake handle and somewhere there will be a switch on the contact to touch the throw of the handle this may be just stuck and a lil' spray lube on at and finger activating and deactivating it a few times to see if the switch is just a lil' dirty and clogged it may free up as son as you set the brake in full release. trying to locate and activate the switch by see where the travel on the handle makes contact or even worse the whole thing can be inaccessible from the exposed interior of the car, asking someone at your cars dealership should be the way to tackle this as it will be good customer service and will not cost much and is always good for the relationship between you and the service dealer. lots of luck.

Check you master cylinder and make sure the fluid is at the right level. If you feel the brakes are working perfect and they feel normal.....The E-brake switch Should be in the console where the E- brake handle is. It'll look like a button the extends out when the brake handle is pulled up. And depressed when the handle is down. It can be unplugged. But I would replace it rather than just disable it.

If the light is always on and the parking brake is not, it could indicate a problem with your master cylinder - get your brakes checked!

Easy but stupid way to shut the light off is by pulling the fuse.

The same light is used to tell you when your parking brake is set and when you have a break failure on the front or rear of the system, but if your brakes feel normal, you may have a fluid level sensor in the master cylinder telling you that the fluid is low. In any case, take it to a mechanic to have your brakes checked out.

i would get your brakes checked immediately if the light stays on when the emergency brake is not on then that usually indicates that you have low brake fluid or you have a problem with the master cylinder or brake booster which should be replaced immediately

there is no switch and the fuse that turns that light on usually controls all lights on the dash so definitely don't want to take that out depending on the car you have to take the center console out or wherever the e-brake is located and there is wires that go to a sensor or the lever itself just unplug them same can be done with the seat belt light

If the brake handle is between the seats , its under the handle.
If its a foot pedal, its mounted above the pedal.
Its possible the parking brake is not fully releasing. Cables may need lube or replacement.

examine to make useful your e-brake swap did no longer replace into disconnected from it rather is wiring, or did no longer come out of the bracket that it rather is screwed into. those switches are frequently plastic threaded right into a metallic physique or locked in with a skinny jam nut. while you're absolutley useful that each little thing remains functioning right, it is the main in all probability reason.

your brake light and emergency brake light are all one. try releasing your emergency brake lever as far as it will go. if not then bleed your brakes. you have air in the lines. bleed them and the light will go off.
