does it have injector pulse? to check pull off the connector to one of the injectors and connect a bulb between the 2 wires, it should flash when u crank the engine. if it flashes then just work ur way through ignition system. if it doesnt flash then the ecu doesnt know the car is cranking so its just sitting there doing nothing. Check the crank (tdc) sensor connections this is what tells the ecu the car is cranking and that the ecu needs to send signals for fuel and ignition. i think the sensor picks its signal from the flywheel on ur car so look around there, if not it gets its signal from a toothed ring behind the crank pulley

Probably out of gas! if you got gas, check for spark.
What year Granada had a DOHC?
All it takes to run a engine is gas,spark and compression(timing chain or belt).

Check the coil and distributer, check the electrical circuits. Watch the circuits in the dark, you may see a spark going where it shouldn't.

if new/ working sparks and fuel pump works, filters clean etc check the timing

EVEN IF THE TIMING WAS OUT IT WOULD STILL SPARK.
CHECK THE COIL THE PLUG LEADS HT LEAD DISTRIBUTER CAP ROTOR ARM AND ALL ENGINE EARTH LEADS.
