I don't think the some of the other posters were that constructive. Most people who major in psychology go onto Masters and/or Ph D degrees. It will be difficult to find a job in psychology with a bachelors only. However, I have seen some job postings for Research Assistant at some consultancy or public policy firms. I don't think you can go much higher than Research Assistant..but it would be a good buffer until you go onto an advanced degree or go somewhere else. They do require some experimental experience. Good luck.

There isn't a lot you can do with a psychology degree without further study.
60% of all employers don't look at what type of degree you got before they consider whether they hire you or not (these are all of those who hire undergrads in undergrads programs). These employers mostly do dull stuff like assistants etc. If you want out of the retailing business this is your best bet I think. Try looking up Milkround for this sort of stuff.
If you want psychology related stuff, you will have to look at something like 12 years of extra studying to go prime in your field of clinical health care. (The assistant stuff takes about 5 years I think). Although I have heard you can get away being a Psychology Technician officially for something like 2 years of experience if you find a firm who would take you on unexperienced.
Otherwise it's jobs like retailing, secretary, etc. where they don't need degrees.

Work as a counselor at a domestic violence agency, a caseplanner in foster care or at a hospital as a social worker in the mental health wing. If you want to go in an entirely different direction, public relations and marketing departments would also appreciate your background. They are always trying to get in to the psyche of their consumers. The sky is the limit...good luck!

With psychology you can go into law, medicine, etc. I have friends that have done that. With psychology however, to make any descent type of money you MUST have at least a Master's degree. You can work for a school as a counselor, as part-time instructor at a college or university. You have options but think about what you REALLY want to do in life, what you want to do in life, not just a career and how much it pays.

Stop wasting time in retail or waiting tables. Try an employment agency like Office Team or Pro Staff. You will probably start out making between $10-14 a hour. It is good office experience, and more and more companies are hiring their temps. At least it beats out working at Applebee's because no one care if that is on your resume.

Sadly you missed the window for a decent apprenticeship leading to a trade or qualification people actually want so you are stuffed.
Huge student loan no prospects.

You probably can't do too much until you get your masters. You have to have a doctorate to practice psychology. You might be able to teach at a school, but you'd first have to do an internship at a school for a year with little to no pay before being able to be a teacher.....if you find a good job let me know, good luck!

it depends on where you live. Here's 3 choices: 1) Prostitution is legal in some states. 2) Don't work collect unemployment 3) Psycho analyze yourself and release what's holding yourself back by hugging your inner child and giving it permission to advance in life without fear of being a complete failure. You'll actually feel a lot better when you realize you have something to offer.
